Accessibility Statement PUBLIC TRANSPORT A Train and Bus service is available from Gloucester, Newport and Chepstow, to Lydney. The bus routes stop at Nibley crossroads, where if you follow signs for Viney Hill, you will find Viney Hill Country House on the right approx 200 yards from the junction. The nearest train station is at Lydney, you need to pre arrange collection, or a taxi. Bristol Parkway Railway Station 25.50 Miles Taxi or change for Gloucester Chepstow Railway Station 12.30 Miles Bus service available Gloucester Railway Station 17.00 Miles Bus service available or change for Lydney Lydney Railway Station: 4.10 Miles Taxi (by arrangement) Newport Railway Station 30.80 Miles Taxi or change for Chepstow/Lydney ON-SITE PARKING The Main Car Park is accessed from Viney Hill Road, if travelling from the A48, you will need to turn right into the car park. Parking is limited to six vehicles and the entrance must be kept clear to allow access from the owners private parking area. There is limited parking (2 cars max) on the verge at the front of the property. ACCESS TO THE MAIN HOUSE is from the stone chip customer car park area. A concrete foot path leads from the car park archway to the house. The owners live in the Lodge on the other side of the Car Park. LUGGAGE The house is approx 20 -30 metres from the car park and there are 1 or 2 flights of stairs to the bedrooms. There are hand rails up the stairs and approx 8 stairs per flight. ENTRANCE TO HOUSE - from the parking area to the house, there are no steps to negotiate. The front porch entrance is elevated by a 3-4 inch stone step leading into the porch and subsequently, the front door which is approx 90cm wide. The threshold of the front door is slightly raised and is not flush with the porch floor. GROUND FLOOR ACCOMMODATION There are no Bedrooms on the ground floor. All bedrooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floors and can only be accessed via the stairs. HALLWAY - The front door leads into a small carpeted reception hall with the first flight of stairs (8 steps) on the left of the hallway and access to the main reception area to the right of the stairs. The hallway is lit by 60 a watt bulb with standard width doors to the games room on the right and the quiet sitting room/library on the left. Both these rooms have wood panelled flooring. RECEPTION - Through the 1st fire door to the carpeted main reception area, you will find the Kitchen/dining room on the left, laundry room and table soccer straight ahead and downstairs toilet to the right, accessed through standard width doors approx 76-80cm. The main guest lounge is entered via swing doors to the left of the toilet. SITTING ROOM Wood block flooring, there is one 2 seat settee, and two arm chairs. Four 40 watt wall lights illuminate the room giving a soft and warm glow to the room, which has an electric dehumidifier and Gas fuelled open coal effect fire. KITCHEN Tiled floor. The stove/cooker has a gas hob with two electric ovens and grill. Other appliances include upright fridge and freezer, microwave, dishwasher and a cordless kettle. KITCHEN/DINER Through the kitchen and one 8 step down to the adjoining dining area, with light oak flooring and light oak Tables and leather covered chairs. STAIRS TO FIRST FLOOR - there are 8 steps to the first landing, with a further combination of steps to the bedrooms on the 1st floor. This is repeated for bedrooms on the 2nd floor. There are banisters and hand rails for the main staircases. BEDROOMS There are 8 bedrooms, including 1 x single, 2 x family (1 double bed, plus a single bed), 1 x standard double, 1 x twin and 3 x double or twin (Link beds used as double or twin). Bathrooms All bedrooms have en-suite facilities of hand basin, toilet and shower, except room 8, which is the single room and has a hand basin and toilet en-suite, with a bathroom next door. MOBILE PHONES - reception in the Forest area is patchy. However, Vodaphone, O2 and T-Mobile are accessible in the main house. There is also a coin operated Pay Phone available. PETS Due to the large volume of visitors to the house and limited turn around times, we are unable to accept pets. SERVICE DOGS can be accommodated, but only with prior agreement with the property owners. Access must be restricted to non carpeted ground floor areas only. Any additional cleaning costs needed to ensure the welfare of other guests will be chargeable. |
